A newly published FDA-linked safety study evaluated febrile seizure risk following monovalent COVID-19 mRNA vaccination in children ages 2–5.
Using data from three large U.S. insurance databases, researchers identified a rare, short-term increase in febrile seizures within 0–1 days after Moderna’s mRNA-1273 vaccine, approximately 3 excess cases per 100,000 doses.
