Ihr Post vom 17. April 2026 mit dem Vergleich der Stromerzeugung 2019 vs. 2026 in KW 15 bringt es auf den Punkt: Der deutsche Energiemix hat sich dramatisch verändert – Kernenergie ist raus, Erneuerbare dominieren die Fläche, und an manchen Tagen kommen Importe und fossile Restkraftwerke dazu. Sie sehen darin einen technischen Beweis, dass Kernkraftwerke (KKW) nicht mehr „sinnvoll integrierbar“ seien.
Ich nehme Ihren Post zum Anlass, um sachlich und faktenbasiert zu erklären, warum eine zuverlässige, steuerbare Grundlast (Base-Load bzw. dispatchable power) für eine funktionierende Industrienation absolut unverzichtbar ist – gerade jetzt, wo Verkehr, Heizungen und Industrie massiv elektrifiziert werden. Und warum Frankreich zeigt, dass KKW genau diese Rolle hervorragend erfüllen können und sich sogar hervorragend mit Erneuerbaren ergänzen.
1. Warum eine Industrienation eine zuverlässige Grundlast braucht
Eine moderne Volkswirtschaft ist kein theoretisches Modell auf dem Papier, sondern ein hochkomplexes, 24/7 laufendes System. Strom ist kein Luxusgut, das man bei Sonnenschein oder starkem Wind einfach „mitnimmt“. Strom muss immer genau dann verfügbar sein, wenn er gebraucht wird – sonst bricht die Versorgungssicherheit zusammen.
- Steigende Elektrifizierung treibt den Bedarf massiv nach oben:
- E-Autos und E-Lkw müssen auch nachts oder im Winter laden (nicht nur bei gutem Wetter).
- Wärmepumpen laufen besonders in kalten, windarmen „Dunkelflauten“ auf Hochtouren – genau dann, wenn Solar fast null und Wind oft schwach ist.
- Industrie (Chemie, Stahl, Glas, Papier, Halbleiter, Wasserstoff-Elektrolyse, KI) braucht kontinuierliche, preisstabile Prozesswärme und Strom. Unterbrechungen kosten Millionen pro Stunde und gefährden ganze Standorte.
Ohne ausreichende steuerbare Grundlast entsteht ein System, das entweder
- auf teure, fossile Gaskraftwerke als Backup angewiesen ist (wie aktuell in Deutschland),
- riesige Speicherkapazitäten braucht (die physikalisch und wirtschaftlich extrem teuer sind), oder
- auf Importe aus Nachbarländern setzt – die dann selbst Strom erzeugen müssen.
Das Ergebnis: volatile Preise, höhere Systemkosten, höhere CO₂-Emissionen durch Backup und das Risiko von Blackouts oder Lastabwürfen. Eine funktionierende Industrienation kann sich das nicht leisten.
2. Kernkraftwerke sind sehr wohl grundlastfähig – und flexibel regelbar
Ihre These, KKW ließen sich in einen Mix mit viel Wind und Solar „nicht mehr sinnvoll integrieren“, widerspricht der Realität in Ländern, die genau das seit Jahrzehnten praktizieren.
Frankreich ist das beste lebende Beispiel.
- Frankreich erzeugt seit über 40 Jahren ca. 65–75 % seines Stroms aus Kernkraft (2025 lag der Anteil bei ca. 70 %, je nach Quelle).
- Die französischen Druckwasserreaktoren (PWR) wurden von Anfang an für Load-Following ausgelegt – also für die Anpassung der Leistung an schwankende Nachfrage und Erneuerbare. Sie können ihre Leistung innerhalb von Minuten um bis zu 5 % pro Minute ändern, oft von 20–100 % der Nennleistung. EDF berichtet, dass das Load-Following-Volumen in den letzten Jahren sogar stark zugenommen hat (von ca. 15 TWh auf über 30 TWh jährlich), weil mehr Erneuerbare hinzukamen. Die Reaktoren „drehen“ sich regelbar mit dem Netz.
- Ergebnis: Frankreich hat eines der stabilsten und saubersten Stromnetze Europas. 2025 lag der CO₂-Ausstoß pro kWh bei **unter 20–30 g CO₂eq/kWh** (historischer Tiefstand). Zum Vergleich: Deutschland lag 2025 bei ca. 400 g CO₂eq/kWh. Frankreich emittiert also etwa ein Zehntel bis ein Fünfzehntel des deutschen Strom-CO₂-Faktors.
- Frankreich ist Netto-Exporteur (Rekord 2025: +92,3 TWh netto exportiert) und versorgt Nachbarländer, wenn diese in der Flaute stecken. Die Preise sind deutlich stabiler und günstiger als in Deutschland.
Kurz: Die Kombination KKW als Grundlast- und Flexibilitäts-Kraftwerke + Erneuerbare funktioniert technisch, reduziert CO₂ dramatisch und stellt den Strombedarf zuverlässig zur Verfügung – genau das, was Sie in Ihrem Post vermissen.
3. Was bedeutet das für Deutschland?
Der deutsche Mix 2026 (wie in Ihrem Schaubild) zeigt eindrucksvoll, dass ohne Kernkraft der fossile und importierte Anteil immer noch notwendig ist, um die Lücken der Erneuerbaren zu schließen. Mit einer funktionierenden Kernkraft-Komponente (ob reaktiviert, neu gebaut oder durch Laufzeitverlängerung) könnte dieser fossile „Rest“ deutlich kleiner ausfallen – bei gleichzeitig sinkenden Systemkosten und höherer Versorgungssicherheit.
Frankreich beweist seit Jahrzehnten: Kernkraft ist kein „veralteter Zappelstrom-Gegner“, sondern der zuverlässige Partner der Erneuerbaren. Sie liefert die stabile Basis, auf der Wind und Solar ihre Schwankungen ausgleichen können, ohne dass das ganze System teuer und unsicher wird.
Eine Industrienation, die ihre Wirtschaft dekarbonisieren, Wohlstand sichern und gleichzeitig Klimaziele erreichen will, braucht beides: so viele Erneuerbare wie möglich und eine starke, steuerbare, CO₂-arme Grundlast. Frankreich macht es vor.

- Increased electrification drives the demand massively upwards:
- E-cars and e- trucks also have to load at night or in winter (not only in good weather).
- Heat pumps run especially in cold, wind-poor “dark surfaces” at high speeds – precisely when solar is almost zero and wind is often weak.
- Industry (chemistry, steel, glass, paper, semiconductor, hydrogen electrolysis, AI) needs continuous, price-stable process heat and electricity. Interruptions cost millions per hour and endanger entire sites.
Without sufficient controllable basic load, a system is created which either
- depends on expensive fossil gas power plants as backup (as currently in Germany),
- huge storage capacities (which are physically and economically extremely expensive), or
- rely on imports from neighbouring countries – which then themselves have to generate electricity.
The result: volatile prices, higher system costs, higher CO2 emissions through backup and the risk of blackouts or load discards. A functioning industrial nation cannot afford it.
Two. Nuclear power plants are well under load – and flexibly adjustable
Their thesis, CHPs were “not meaningfully integrated” in a mix with lots of wind and solar, contradicts reality in countries that have been practicing for decades.
France is the best living example.
- France has been producing approx. 65–75 % of its current from nuclear power (2025) was about 70 %, depending on the source).
- The French pressure water reactors (PWR) have been designed for load-following from the outset – that is, for adapting power to fluctuating demand and renewables. They can change their performance within minutes by up to 5% per minute, often from 20 to 100% of the rated power. EDF reports that the load-following volume has even increased sharply in recent years (from about 15 TWh to over 30 TWh annually) because more renewables were added. The reactors “turn” can be controlled with the grid.
- Result: France has one of the most stable and clean electricity networks in Europe. In 2025, CO2 emissions per kWh were below 20–30 g CO2eq/kWh** (historical low). The German Mix 2026 (as in your chart) impressively shows that without nuclear power the fossil and imported part is still necessary to close the gaps of the renewables. With a functioning nuclear power component (whether reactivated, rebuilt or extended by runtime), this fossil “residue” could be significantly smaller – at the same time decreasing system costs and higher supply security.
France has been demonstrating for decades: nuclear power is not an “old” twin-current opponent, but the reliable partner of renewables. It provides the stable basis on which wind and solar can compensate for their fluctuations without the whole system becoming expensive and uncertain.
An industrial nation that wants to decarbonise its economy, secure prosperity and achieve climate targets at the same time requires both: as many renewables as possible and a strong, controllable, low-carbon basic load. France is doing it.
