Anlass war der Aufruf des amerikanischen Gesundheitsministers Robert F. Kennedy Jr., die Verfolgung von Ärzten und Patienten in Deutschland sofort zu beenden.
Wörtlich sagte er: „Wenn ein Staat beginnt, Ärztinnen und Ärzte dafür zu kriminalisieren, dass sie ihre Patienten beraten, überschreitet er eine Grenze, die freie Gesellschaften seit jeher als unantastbar betrachten.“
