To add to my previous repost, just take a look at Iran's military strength. They have no air force but look at the size of their troops numbers, tanks, AA vehicles and their large missile force. Their diesel submarine force is small but they can sit undetectable on the shallow sea floor of Hormuz and launch torpedo's. Iran is no Iraq.

This war on Iran makes no sense. US readiness is at best 60%. This is no Iraq. The Chinese and Russians have provided Iran satellite defenses. Iran can be severely bombed but no war has ever been won from the air. And the economic repercussions are global due to oil prices skyrocketing. This is insane.

Remember, the Iranians (the defender), do not have to win, they just need to survive, block Hormuz, take 20% of world oil supply off the table and wait. Rumors are that Chinese transport planes in Tehran have provided the Iranians with their Satellite BeiDou Theater Satellite system.

The USN carrier groups are not what Iran should be afraid of. It's the massive buildup of USAF aircraft at bases in Saudi Arabia and Gulf State USAF bases. US Strategic thinking is she can absorb the Straits of Hormuz being closed for 3 weeks (which Iran will block) and hope to degrade Iranian infrastructure enough by then for US reopened before oil prices hit $200 a barrel.

If you cannot win a war by attacking its people, you can instead attack the people's money. All wars are banker's wars. 1 USD = 42k IRN (Friday) 1 USD = 1M IRN (Monday) It's the same play versus Libya and Syria. Combine it with some foreign provocateurs in riots and you don't need bombs.
