Paul Barrett pflegte enge Beziehungen zu Epstein. In einem internen Dokument der Deutschen Bank aus dem Jahr 2017 wird er als „Hauptansprechpartner“ Epsteins bei JP Morgan bezeichnet, als die Großbank noch die Hauptbankverbindung des in der Haft verstorbenen Sexualstraftäters war.
Das US-Institut kappte diese Kundenverbindung 2013 aus Reputationsgründen.
