🇮🇷 Iran offers Burkina Faso technical expertise in science, industry, and defense. 🇧🇫 Traoré doesn't beg. He builds partnerships. While the West offers loans with chains, Iran offers knowledge with respect. No IMF. No conditions. No waiting for permission. Two nations refusing to bow. One continent watching closely. Africa doesn't need saviors. It needs serious partners.

"North Korea invaded South Korea" is one of the most successful lies in modern history. There was no "North" or "South Korea". There was one nation, divided in 45 minutes by two US colonels using a National Geographic map. Before a single US soldier landed, Koreans had already formed their own government. 135 People's Committees across the entire country. The US's own officer on the ground called them "genuine grassroots democratic" organizations. The US dismantled them in the South, keeping in place the Japanese colonial police and Japanese-trained collaborators. Under the cover of the US military, the Japanese colonizers simply changed flags. Then the US flew in their man. Syngman Rhee arrived on MacArthur's personal plane, with a passport the State Department had refused to issue. Per the CIA's own assessment: he was "a demagogue bent on autocratic rule" who would pursue "ruthless suppression of all opposition." The US military government polled Koreans in 1946. 70% preferred socialism. 14% preferred capitalism. For the US, this popular will was precisely the problem. Rhee's forces massacred 100,000 to 200,000 of their own people before and during the war. US Army Signal Corps photographers were present. The photos sat classified for decades. MacArthur called it "an internal matter." South Korean forces crossed the 38th parallel repeatedly in 1949. Battalion-sized attacks northward, documented by State Department historian John Merrill. An August 1949 incident found ROK troops already positioned north of the line. The May 1950 elections, 26 days before the war, returned 130 independents against 49 Rhee seats. The population rejected him through every available channel. Washington had a problem. Koreans wanted socialism. Korea reunified on Korean terms was Korea lost. That could not be permitted. So they went to war. US Air Force General Curtis LeMay later admitted: "We burned down every town in North Korea... we killed off over a million civilian Koreans and drove several million more from their homes." While burning the North, the US Army ordered its forces to strafe South Korean civilian refugee columns. "All civilians seen in this area are to be considered as enemy." They were defending no one. North Korea lost a higher percentage of its population than any country in World War Two. What happened in June 1950 was not an invasion of one country by another. It was a government with popular roots moving against a US-installed client that was massacring its own people and had just been repudiated at the ballot box. Every word of this is in American archives. CIA ORE 15/48. FRUS 1945-1950. NARA RG 111. The Jeju 4.3 Investigation Report. Marshall's own cables. LeMay's own mouth. Kim Il Sung called it a colonial scheme in 1948. Decades of declassified US documents proved him right.

Americans love to say, "We are better than this." When? During slavery? During Jim Crow? During Vietnam? During coups in Latin America? During Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Palestine? At what exact point was this mythical moral golden age? Maybe the problem is not that they fell from greatness. Maybe the problem is that the greatness was always propaganda.

With little hope of the genocide in Gaza subsiding, dock workers in major Italian port cities have organized strikes and large demonstrations to halt arms shipments to Israel. These actions are a direct response to the refusal of international institutions and governments around the world to confront the carnage. Though the genocide continues, the dockworkers’ industrial disruption offer us a model of resistance. Will the Italian way spread to the imperial core — and can it end the genocide? Our documentary, Resistance 101: Forging a New Movement for Palestine In Italy, premieres on The Chris Hedges YouTube channel tomorrow morning. We will have a Livestream Q&A to discuss the film and its subject matter at 3pm ET.

You are talking about one America. I am talking about another. When liberals say "the American people are good, it is just their government," they are not thinking of the ghetto, the reservation, the migrant camp, or the prison yard. They are thinking of the comfortable America. The majority America. The America that still has a passport, a credit card, and a vote. I know perfectly well there is an America that has been crushed from the beginning: The America of the enslaved. The America of Indigenous nations. The America of Malcolm, of King in his last years, of the Panthers, of Garvey, of organizers the state disappeared or buried. You mention them as if I am unaware. They are exactly why I do not say "the American people" like it is one innocent block. Because the people who killed them were not just a handful of men in suits. They were also cops, informants, juries, voters, newspapers, donors, neighbors who chose order over justice. There have always been Americans who resisted empire and paid the price. They are not the ones I am mocking. I am mocking the sentence. "The American people are good, it is just their government." That sentence erases the very people you are invoking: It erases Black radicals by pretending their struggle was an exception, not a structural war with the state. It erases poor and colonized communities inside the U.S. by merging them into one big, innocent "people" that keeps sending the same machine back into office. It erases the fact that the ghettos you are asking me to visit are not accidental. They are policy. Are many Americans victims of the ruling class? Yes. But at the global level, that same ruling class sits on top of an imperial system that still gives even many "victims" inside the core more protection, more consumption, more security than the people under its bombs and sanctions. A poor white worker in Michigan might be exploited by his boss. He is also not being droned, not being starved by sanctions, not watching his whole country turned into rubble in the name of "democracy." Both things can be true at once: People in America suffer under their own ruling class. And many of those same people, through votes, consent, or silence, help keep an empire running that destroys lives far outside their borders. I am not saying a Black mother in the Bronx and a hedge fund manager in Connecticut share the same responsibility. Only a dishonest person would pretend that is my claim. I am saying this: If you insist that "the American people" are always victims and never participants, you have not described reality. You have built a shield. Malcolm was assassinated. King was assassinated. Garvey was exiled. What killed them was not just "the government" in the abstract. It was a whole security apparatus, legal system, media climate, and social order that decided their message was intolerable. That is my point. When people tell me "the American people are good, it is just their government," they are not honoring Malcolm. They are erasing what he died trying to expose: that the violence is structural, cultural, and popular, not just a glitch in leadership. You ask if I have walked the ghettos. I could ask you if you have walked the villages that were napalmed, the hospitals that collapsed under sanctions, the refugee camps built out of the ruins of American foreign policy. The people in those places are also "victims of the ruling class." But when they speak about America, nobody demands they first write a balanced paragraph about their own government before they are allowed to name who bombed them. So let me be clear: I do not believe every American is equally guilty. I do not believe every American is a monster. I do believe that as long as the story remains "good people, bad government," the system that killed Malcolm and King and millions abroad will keep renewing itself without ever having to look in the mirror. That is what I am attacking. Not the existence of American suffering. But the myth of American innocence.

Fining people for not believing that men can be women won’t make people believe that men can be women, nor will it turn men into women. This is all a very futile war against reality & reality will definitely win.

Russia's top Iran expert told me this week, he doesn't believe the US will go to war with Iran. Why? Because it is obviously not in US strategic interests. "They will break their teeth on the rock that is Iran." Defensive capabilities are too strong. And it will only accelerate their own declining power in the world. Despite the hysterics in the Western press about Iranians wanting to be free. If attacked, the people will rally around their spiritual leader. Israel tried to take them on last year. And as missiles rained down on Tel Aviv. They ended up having to beg the Americans to get them to stop. They tried flooding the country with weapons and terrorists to coincide with recent protests. That didn't work either. The BBC is getting a lot of criticism for not going as hard on Iran recently as one would expect. But thats because the British and Europeans know a war with Iran is not in their interests either. Its is only in the interests of one country. Israel. Sanity must reign.
