This is what American-led #GlobalHealthSecurity looks like. In 2025, Uganda reported an outbreak of Ebola. The CDC quickly deployed trained experts to assist Uganda’s national response. Collaborating with local teams, they effectively tracked and contained the outbreak to just 9 cases, preventing it from spreading further, both globally and to the United States. Keeping Americans safe is our number 1 goal. #CrisisToControl
I’ve teamed up with @KidRock to deliver two simple messages to the American people: GET ACTIVE + EAT REAL FOOD.
This is what #GlobalHealthSecurity looks like: Tanzania faced its first-ever outbreak of deadly Marburg virus in 2023. Working closely with Tanzania’s Ministry of Health, CDC detected the virus within 48 hours, stopping it from crossing international borders. Framing measles as an American policy failure is inaccurate and misleading. Under Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy’s leadership, the CDC has surged resources, including vaccines and therapeutics, nationwide to support state and local response efforts and contain outbreaks. We are setting the global standard for public health. -Dr. Ralph Abraham, CDC’s Principal Deputy Director

Recently, CDC was on the ground in Texas, working closely with federal and state partners to strengthen readiness for the potential public health threat posed by New World screwworm. This engagement allowed CDC to highlight response planning, review preparedness efforts, and strengthen coordination and communication across jurisdictions.
To further support preparedness, CDC issued a Health Alert Network (HAN) Health Advisory to inform clinicians, public health authorities, and the public about recent New World screwworm animal cases in Tamaulipas, Mexico, which borders Texas. CDC continues to support state, tribal, and local health officials by providing technical expertise on diagnosis, clinical management, and reporting potential cases of New World screwworm.
