I don’t know why, but my feeling is that not only Turkey, but also the West is supporting another genocide of the Yazidis by ISIS.

And yet today you demand that these very survivors lay down their last means of defense. What is that if not support for genocide? What is that if not political calculation at the expense of a people who were once already meant to be erased? What is that if not gambling with the very real possibility that history will repeat itself? You argue in the name of “stabilization.” But stabilization for whom? For those exerting pressure? For strategic alliances? Certainly not for the people of Shingal — who know what it means when no one comes to protect them. The only beneficiaries here are the jihadists of the Islamic State. And the West? A genocide begins with political decisions that dismantle protection. It begins with stripping people of their right to self-defense. If ISIS reaches Shingal again, that genocide will stand as a historical consequence — and it will be associated with your names and your Western nations.

Hi, I’m not fundamentally opposed to asylum — especially when it concerns people who are genuinely persecuted. However, I do have a serious issue with radical Muslims, because they have been responsible for the persecution of many minorities. My mother’s family is originally from Turkey and came to Germany as guest workers in the 1960s. My father’s family is from Syria. At the time, my grandfather was even offered asylum in the United States due to his connections with the Americans. However, since we had no relatives there, his children ultimately chose Germany instead. My grandfather himself never truly wanted to leave Syria. Even in the middle of the war, we had to convince him to leave.
