Another Hungarian citizen has died as a result of Ukraine’s conscription practices.
Zsolt Rebán was Hungarian, and therefore a citizen of the European Union.
He had suffered from heart disease since childhood and had been officially declared unfit for military service multiple times.
It did not protect him.
In early January, he was taken from the street by force and pushed into conscription despite his medical condition and his family’s warnings.
He collapsed during training and died shortly afterwards.
This is not an exception.
In Ukraine, conscription has turned into open manhunting, with reports of beatings, unlawful detention, and the mobilisation of people who should never be sent to war.
Four years into the conflict, this is the reality.
And still, the Brussels elite looks away.
