Here is a completely devastatingly true story it exposes a double standard so deeply ingrained in our society that people actively try to pretend it doesn't exist.
The Tragedy of Earl Silverman
Society loves to boldly claim that it stands against domestic violence, but the unspoken asterisk at the end of that sentence is: only when the victim is a woman. When a man is bleeding, trapped, and terrified in his own home, the world doesn't offer him a hotline or a shelter.
In the late 1980s, a man named Earl Silverman fled his home in Canada. He was the victim of severe, escalating domestic abuse at the hands of his wife. Terrified and desperate for a safe haven, he started calling domestic violence hotlines and searching for emergency shelters.
What he found completely broke his faith in humanity.
There were dozens of publicly funded shelters for women and children. But for a battered man? There was absolutely nothing. When he reached out to state-funded services for help, he wasn’t just turned away, he was actively mocked. He was told that as a man, he was either the actual instigator, or he should just "man up" and deal with it. The system looked at a bleeding, abused man and essentially told him his pain didn't exist.
Realizing that society would literally let men die in the streets rather than admit women could be abusers, Earl decided to do the unthinkable: he built a sanctuary himself.
He poured his own life savings into opening the "Family of Men Support Society," the very first domestic violence shelter exclusively for men. Operating out of his own home, Earl took in broken fathers and battered husbands who had been forced to sleep in their cars because the government refused to acknowledge their trauma. For over a decade, Earl was the only safety net in the entire country for these men.
But running a shelter is expensive. Earl applied for local, provincial, and federal government funding, the exact same grants that female shelters received millions of dollars from every single year.
He was denied. Every. Single. Time.
The government agencies told him that male victims weren't a recognized priority. Society was perfectly willing to fund the safety of women, but it flat-out refused to spend a single dime to protect a man from a violent woman.
The financial burden eventually crushed him. Earl drained his bank accounts, maxed out his credit, and completely bankrupted himself trying to keep the doors open for men who had nowhere else to go. In early 2013, completely out of money and abandoned by a system that refused to see male humanity, he was forced to close the shelter and sell his home.
Shortly after closing the only safe haven for men, the sheer exhaustion and profound isolation broke him. Earl Silverman tragically took his own life.
Society didn't just fail Earl Silverman; it actively looked the other way. We live in a culture that will spend billions of dollars to convince women they are protected, but will watch a man build a life raft with his bare hands, deny him the wood to keep it floating, and then let him drown.

Here is what your government and big banks are doing to you, explained through this story like you are 5 years old:
An ancient tribe of hunter gatherers, known as the Keynésati, maintained a ledger system, inscribed on a nearby cliff face. When a tribal member hunted a bison, deer or other game, or collected berries or caught fish, it would be shared between all tribe members. The provider would then mark his/her bounty next to his/her name on the cliff face. This way, all tribe members could eat from the stock of hunted and gathered food. Next, it would be someone else’s turn to provide.
By using this cliff wall ledger system, the tribe managed to keep everything fair and ensure that everyone did their part. The tribe was also able to keep track of what food were still in reserve.
Because of the success of this system, the tribe grew larger over time and experienced a so-called "golden age", until one fateful day.
Some members of the tribe figured out a way to cheat the system. Seemingly simple in hindsight, this was considered revolutionary genius at the time:
At night, when everyone was sleeping, these tribe members wrote on the ledger wall next to their names, without providing the actual goods.
These tribe members, called the Bankarii, were able to live off of the other tribe members for free.
But soon, problems arose. The entire tribe was under the impression that there are more supplies in store than there actually was. With the impression of abundance, they ate more than they would have, had they known reality. Often feasting until late into the night and enjoying a boom of consumption.
One day, the tribal elders went into the cave where the supplies were stored and they realized it was completely empty. Flabbergasted about this, they went about finding out what went wrong, for according to the ledger on the cave wall, there were still ample supplies left.
The Elders soon discovered that the Bankarii were writing on the wall without contributing anything, and confronted them. The Bankarii convinced the Elders to join their flagitious plot, for both Elder and Bankarii could benefit from this at the expense of the other tribe members, as long as the others didn't find out about this.
The Elders decided to convince the other tribe members to work harder, hunt, gather and fish more, for it is their “tribal duty” to provide for the rest of the tribe. (After all, who would care for the poor and build the roads if the normal tribe members did not consume less than they provide🤡🌎).
Every time a tribe member pointed out this thievery by the Bankarii and the Elders, he/she was ridiculed as a conspiracy theorist or a crank. Furthermore, the Elders were in charge of who can and who can not write on the cave wall.
Over time, the Elders and the Bankarii became exceptionally wealthy, for as the goods provided by the tribe members came in, they simply took and used as much as they wanted, writing it next to their own names on the wall. The other tribe members worked tirelessly, but could not seem to get ahead. It seemed that some kind of revolution would soon be at hand as the hardworking tribe members became dissatisfied by the situation.
One day, a young tribe member called Satomoto decided to announce publicly that he found a better system for keeping record of tribal affairs. Seemingly simplistic in hindsight, his solution was to start from scratch on a new wall, but with added rules and transparency. Anyone can write on the wall as long as they can prove that they delivered the goods they claimed to have provided, also, you may only write on the wall when witnessed by the entire tribe, out in the open.
Satomoto and his early followers were ridiculed by the Elders and the Bankarii, for they immediately realized that Satomoto’s system would put an end to their racket. It was said that the new wall could never work as a ledger system because it has no Elders to control it.
But soon all the tribe members that chose to write on Satomoto’s wall, became wealthier than the tribe members who still wrote on the Elder’s wall. Not because they were better or more hardworking, but simply because a large percentage of the fruits of their labour wasn't stolen by the Elders and the Bankarii.
Slowly but steadily, more and more tribe members started using Satomoto’s wall, until eventually there were only the empty and fake writings of the Elders and the Bankarii left on the Elder wall.
Satomoto managed to peacefully circumvent the Elder wall, thereby ensuring peace and prosperity for all tribe members.

To ensure that you’re thinking that they were warriors in the battlefield, The Independent shows you a nice photo of samurai armor, on top of what you already know about the samurai from modern pop culture. At this stage, you’re primed to wipe your tears thinking about girl power in unexpected places (or get angry about). And, of course, many people only look at the headline, to begin with.
What the article actually says:
“The mercenary group developed into a rural gentry and by 1615 they had moved away from the battlefield to serve as government officials, scholars, and patrons of the arts.
It is here where half of the samurai class were women and although they did not tend to fight they were a vital part of the elite order, playing a key role both on and off the battlefield.”
In other words, by the time of the Tokugawa shogunate, between the early 1600s and the late 19th-century imperial restoration, the warrior class served various *administrative roles* employed by the government.
So, a bunch of women, likely in privileged social positions, worked for the government. That’s cool, I guess, considering the rigidity of the Japanese social structure in terms of the hierarchy and the gender/sex-based roles. But that’s not what they wanted us to think.
Furthermore, this is clearly more than simply clickbait. It’s *deliberately* misleading. And if a seemingly benign article on Japanese history is misleading, imagine how misleading hot political topics may be.

Meanwhile, people with deep technical expertise, guys who actually understood blowout risk, were sidelined or fired for saying the obvious:
That HR induced exhaustion causes accidents.

One crewman reported a serious onboard fire that nearly killed someone. Nothing happened for weeks. When he kept pushing a manager told him to STFU.

Within hours, an executive helicopter full of HR Quick Reaction Team launched from Houston.
They didn’t investigate the fire.
They investigated him, the guy who called HR.
Their conclusion?
The man reporting the fire was “repeatedly harassing the crew to report the fire.”
He was fired.

My brother teacher @EnochBurke was released from prison today. He spent over 560 days in a jail cell for refusing to bow to transgender ideology. His release today however is a total mockery of justice. Judge Brian Cregan knows full well that Enoch will return to his place of work, Wilson’s Hospital School, and then faces an immediate return to prison. This stunt by Judge Cregan, after he threatened in December to keep Enoch imprisoned indefinitely, is nothing but an attempt to damage Enoch’s standing in the public eye. At the same time Judge Cregan was today counselling the Disciplinary Appeal Panel on how best to respond to a legal challenge by Enoch Burke - this panel held a shambolic and disgraceful appeal “hearing” in December which was utterly devoid of fairness and justice. One Panel member, Geraldine O’Brien, blatantly stated at the outset of the hearing “If I were instructed by my Principal to call a child whatever, I have to implement that instruction, I don’t make the instruction”. Judge Brian Cregan is now counselling this Panel as they seek to defend the indefensible in the High Court. This is an utter travesty of justice.
