Diese Prämisse arbeitet sie über die gesamte Länge (5–6 ausgedruckte Seiten) hinweg ab. Das soll dann irgendwie reflektiert, fair, aber konsequent sein.
Ich kann Menschen nur bemitleiden, die sich überhaupt in dieses Paradigma hineinziehen lassen. Vor allem sollte man festhalten, dass es sich aus journalistischer Perspektive um ein wirklich bedauernswertes Stück Gesinnungsprosa handelt – einen Text, der weder aufklärt noch aufdeckt oder auf interessante Weise argumentiert, sondern die eigenen Gedankenschleifen bis in die letzten Windungen ausrollt und so die eigene Borniertheit essayistisch entfaltet. Umso schöner ist es zu sehen, dass das NIUS-Buch auf der Bestsellerliste ihres Arbeitgebers steht. Der neueste gescheiterte Kampagnenversuch Correctivs startete am 19. März mit der Veröffentlichung eines Berichts unter dem hochtrabenden Titel "Akten des Missbrauchs - Die weltweite Recherchereise zum Geheimarchiv des Vatikans".

Woher kennen wir diese Art der Inszenierung? Richtig, von der Berichterstattung Correctivs zum Potsdam-Treffen, die Correctiv mittlerweile in ihren Kernaussagen als Falschbehauptung verboten wurde. Auch hier hatten die Politaktivisten eine irreführende Kampagne
begleitet von einem Theaterstück inszeniert, die sich am Ende in ihren Kernaussagen in die Luft aufgelöst und den Ruf des Journalismus schwerwiegend beschädigt hat. Denn nicht nur Correctiv hat im Kern falsch berichtet sondern zahlreiche Medien wurden durch die Berichterstattung an der Nase herumgeführt, haben im Vertrauen auf Correctiv falsch berichtet und teure gerichtliche Niederlagen wegen der Verbreitung ihrer Falschbehauptungen kassiert.
Analysiert man nun, eine Woche nach dem Beginn der Kampagne, was daraus geworden ist, dann ist das Ergebnis für Correctiv ein Schlag ins Gesicht: Denn es gibt fast kein Medium, das die Geschichte übernommen hat. Sie wird ignoriert, niemand bekommt etwas davon mit, sie ist gefloppt.
Und woran liegt das?

Echte Journalisten wissen, dass die ungeprüfte Übernahme von Correctivgeschichten äußerst haftungsträchtig ist, weil man dann Gefahr läuft, ähnlich wie Tagesschau und heute journal durch Correctiv vermittelte Falschbehauptungen zu verbreiten und dafür gerichtlich belangt zu werden.
Das hatte man sich bei Correctiv mit der Vatikan-Kampagne sicherlich ganz anders vorgestellt. Zur Erinnerung:
Die falsche Legende zum Potsdam-Treffen wurde bereits an den Tagen nach der Veröffentlichung hundertfach in den deutschen Medien geteilt. Diese Zeiten sind nun vorbei.
