I agree the answer is more competition. Lower barriers for new and smaller plans to enter and scale by deregulation and then push employers to offer real choice, with meaningful variation in networks and benefits, plus reporting that reflects what high cost patients actually experience.
I disagree on the utility of price controls. In health care they are politically addictive but tend to cause more unintended harms.
If you want better insurer behavior, stop treating “profits” as the root sin and start treating “lack of competition” as the root problem.

Und manchmal führt sie auch zu Gerichtsprozessen, wie im äußerungsrechtlichen Streit zwischen dem Virologen Christian Drosten und dem Physiker Roland Wiesendanger. Am 27.02.2026 war dazu die mündliche Hauptverhandlung am Landgericht Hamburg.
Dabei geht es um den Vorwurf der Täuschung zum Virusursprung, den Wiesendanger in einem Interview im Februar 2022 gegenüber Drosten erhob. „Im Kern muss die Kammer die beiden streitgegenständlichen Äußerungen entsprechend bewerten. Sind es Meinungsäußerungen, wo es entsprechender Anknüpfungstatsachen bedarf, oder sind es innere Tatsachenbehauptungen, die dem Beweis zugänglich sind?“, erklärte die Gerichtssprecherin Maxi Klüber nach der Verhandlung gegenüber Epoch Times.
Hier habe die Kammer eine klare Tendenz zu erkennen gegeben, dass sie von inneren Tatsachenbehauptungen ausgehe. „Und da ging es noch um zwei Aussagen in diesem Interview. Einmal um die Aussage, Herr Drosten habe die Öffentlichkeit gezielt getäuscht. Und die zweite Aussage betraf, dass die Vereinigung Scientists for Scientists ihre Forschung frei von Beschränkungen halten wolle“, so Wiesendangers Verteidiger Lucas Brost zu Epoch Times.
Die Kammer gehe derzeit davon aus, dass Wiesendanger dies wohl nicht beweisen könne, und habe eine entsprechende Tendenz zu erkennen gegeben, dass man wohl im Ergebnis dem Urteil des Oberlandesgerichts, das im Verfügungsverfahren ergangen ist, folgen würde, erklärte Klüber weiter. „Also eine innere Tatsachenbehauptung ist eine sehr besondere Figur innerhalb des Presserechts, [das] ist mir in meiner Berufstätigkeit ganz, ganz selten vorgekommen“, zeigt sich Verteidiger Brost erstaunt. Für Wiesendanger selbst waren seine Aussagen hingegen Meinungsäußerungen, die legitim waren.
„Wenn man das wirklich als Tatsachenaussagen sehen würde, habe ich eindeutig dargelegt, dass meine Aussagen durchaus auch bewiesen werden können, und zwar strikt“, so der Physiker weiter. „Wenn man nachweisen kann, dass jemand zwar gewusst hat, dass mit zumindest einer gewissen Wahrscheinlichkeit dieses Virus aus dem Labor kommen konnte und dann aber gegenüber der Öffentlichkeit einen Laborursprung strikt ausschließt, dann ist tatsächlich der Sachverhalt einer Täuschung gegeben“, sagte der Hamburger im Interview mit Epoch Times.
Nach Ansicht des Gerichts schloss Drosten einen Laborursprung des Coronavirus jedoch nicht absolut aus. Dies sei durch Äußerungen in einem Podcast und in Interviews belegbar. Das Medieninteresse war überschaubar. Jedoch wollten zahlreiche Bürger dem Prozess beiwohnen. Der Saal mit rund 30 Sitzplätzen war zu klein. Da halfen auch die lauten Rufe vor dem Gerichtssaal nicht, wie „Lasst uns rein“. Doch warum plante das Gericht keinen größeren Saal ein, obwohl ein großes öffentliches Interesse erwartbar war? „Parallel finden hier in Hamburg ganz viele Prozesse statt. Das war einer von vielen Prozessen“, erklärte Klüber.
Es gebe größere Säle, aber die seien im Zweifel ebenfalls besetzt durch Straf- oder weitere Zivilverfahren. Am 17. April wird das Landgericht Hamburg das Urteil verkünden. Dagegen können die Parteien Berufung einlegen. Dann würde der Fall wieder beim Oberlandesgericht landen. Drostens Verteidiger stand für eine Stellungnahme nicht zur Verfügung. In der Verhandlung hielt er sich kurz und bezeichnete Wiesendangers Ausführungen in der heutigen Verhandlung als unwahr, unwesentlich und interpretiert, brachte aber keine Belege vor.

💉MMR vaccine-associated deaths (VAERS):
Since 1995, there have been 193 reported deaths following MMR/MMRV vaccination in VAERS — vs. 7 measles deaths in the same period. @OpenVAERS
That's 27x more reported post-vaccine deaths than disease deaths.
The CDC has never systematically investigated these reports to confirm or rule out causation.
The same agency tells you the system is too unreliable to draw conclusions from — while simultaneously using it as their primary post-market safety surveillance tool.
