Delve, a YC-backed compliance startup that raised $32 million, has been accused of systematically faking SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR compliance reports for hundreds of clients. According to a detailed Substack investigation by DeepDelver, a leaked Google spreadsheet containing links to hundreds of confidential draft audit reports revealed that Delve generates auditor conclusions before any auditor reviews evidence, uses the same template across 99.8% of reports, and relies on Indian certification mills operating through empty US shells instead of the "US-based CPA firms" they advertise. Here's the breakdown:
> 493 out of 494 leaked SOC 2 reports allegedly contain identical boilerplate text, including the same grammatical errors and nonsensical sentences, with only a company name, logo, org chart, and signature swapped in
> Auditor conclusions and test procedures are reportedly pre-written in draft reports before clients even provide their company description, which would violate AICPA independence rules requiring auditors to independently design tests and form conclusions
> All 259 Type II reports claim zero security incidents, zero personnel changes, zero customer terminations, and zero cyber incidents during the observation period, with identical "unable to test" conclusions across every client
> Delve's "US-based auditors" are actually Accorp and Gradient, described as Indian certification mills operating through US shell entities. 99%+ of clients reportedly went through one of these two firms over the past 6 months
> The platform allegedly publishes fully populated trust pages claiming vulnerability scanning, pentesting, and data recovery simulations before any compliance work has been done
> Delve pre-fabricates board meeting minutes, risk assessments, security incident simulations, and employee evidence that clients can adopt with a single click, according to the author
> Most "integrations" are just containers for manual screenshots with no actual API connections. The author describes the platform as a "SOC 2 template pack with a thin SaaS wrapper"
> When the leak was exposed, CEO Karun Kaushik emailed clients calling the allegations "falsified claims" from an "AI-generated email" and stated no sensitive data was accessed, while the reports themselves contained private signatures and confidential architecture diagrams
> Companies relying on these reports could face criminal liability under HIPAA and fines up to 4% of global revenue under GDPR for compliance violations they believed were resolved
> When clients threaten to leave, Delve reportedly pairs them with an external vCISO for manual off-platform work, which the author argues proves their own platform can't deliver real compliance
> Delve's sales price dropped from $15,000 to $6,000 with ISO 27001 and a penetration test thrown in when a client mentioned considering a competitor

Ich bin eine iranische Frau. Ich habe meine Heimat verlassen, um den unmenschlichen Gesetzen der Islamisten zu entkommen, die sich nur durch militärische Waffengewalt an der Macht halten. Ich bin gegangen, um als Frau kein Mensch zweiter Klasse mehr zu sein; damit ich endlich als freier Mensch aufatmen kann.
In diesen Tagen herrscht im Iran Krieg, weil die Mullahs um jeden Preis an der Macht bleiben wollen. Seit Jahrzehnten werden Frauen dort systematisch unterdrückt. Wenn sie gegen den Hidschab-Zwang protestieren, lautet die Antwort: Erblindung durch gezielte Schüsse, Säureangriffe, Vergewaltigung, Folter und Mord.
Dabei sehe ich dieses Foto vor mir: Wie Herr Steinmeier mit den Vertretern dieses Regimes lächelnd am Iftar(Fastenbrechen)-Tisch saß. Er speiste mit den Repräsentanten eines Regimes, das den Holocaust als „Märchen“ bezeichnet und dessen Slogan „Tod Israel“ lautet. Seit diesem Foto ist ein Jahrzehnt vergangen. Die Welt scheint irgendwie dieselbe geblieben zu sein, doch wie viele Menschen wurden seitdem im Namen dieser Ideologie im Iran hingerichtet? Wie viele Angehörige haben ihr Lächeln für immer verloren, während die Täter auf der Weltbühne weiter lächeln durften?
Ich frage mich voller Sorge: Hat der Bundespräsident seit damals ein tieferes Bewusstsein für die Realität des Islamismus entwickelt? Der Gedanke an die Antwort lässt mich um meine Zukunft in dieser Gesellschaft bangen. Ich habe Angst davor, auch hier wieder zu einem Menschen zweiter Klasse degradiert zu werden. Ich frage mich: Wo auf dieser Welt gibt es noch genug Luft zum Atmen, ohne dass mir wieder jemand den Fuß auf die Kehle setzt?
Religionsfreiheit und Vielfalt sind wichtige Werte. Aber ist denjenigen, die diese Werte predigen, die Sicherheit und die Freiheit von Frauen und Kindern ebenso wichtig? Können sie wirklich radikale Ideologien von gelebtem Glauben unterscheiden? Haben sie die Kompetenz, über Schicksale zu entscheiden, deren wahre Tiefe sie offensichtlich nicht begreifen?
Die Antworten auf diese Fragen machen mir Angst…

While everyone's once again on the whole "USAA is garbage" warpath (they are), it's time once again for me to share a little story from 2013:
As some of you know, I do computer security stuff. Not just professionally, but for fun.
One day in December 2013, I got some spam email. It was a phish. Purporting to be from USAA. Since I was taking 2 years off from working (voluntarily; I'd just gotten married and wanted to focus on me for a while), I had ample time on my hands.
So, I started digging.
Long story short: I located the threat actor -- full name, address, photo, front door, and all his infrastructure. I infiltrated that, and obtained full details of every USAA customer he's successfully tricked into handing over everything: PII, credentials, account details, credit/debit card info, the works. Along with his other campaigns running, pretending to be other banks.
I packaged this all up professionally and approached the appropriate people in USAA about it. Explained who I was, that I'd done this professionally for decades, that I'd been a long-standing customer of USAA, etc.
I was told, in no uncertain terms -- in fact, in these exact words -- "It's our policy not to pursue fraud".
I was a bit taken aback. I had to have them repeat, and then explain that. I couldn't've possibly heard that right.
Here I was, a security professional, handing them a fairly large threat actor on a silver platter, along with a decent-sized list of USAA customers that either had been victims of fraud, or were about to be.
And they not only said they weren't interested, but that they intended to do quite literally nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Earlier that year they'd stopped underwriting motorcycle policies, so I had already pulled my auto and bike insurance from them.
So, I spent Christmas Eve night that year (because I wasn't about to wait) sitting in the office of a local bank opening new accounts, transferring everything out of USAA.
The following week we took it to the State Police. They were interested, but had no idea what to do with the information, even after I politely suggested various avenues to pursue. And I was talking with the officer who was in charge of "all the computer stuff".
The report remains on file.
The threat actor remains at large.
His victims remain screwed.
USAA doesn't give two shits about you, and hasn't for quite some time.
In order to answer his question, we HAVE to exclude ALL human interference. Which is the process followed here. It has been laid out by the most professional people. NOAA USCRN team. Selecting locations, which do not have ANY human interference. That _is_ the ONLY way to do it.
