Ruth Maguire (SNP), who is stepping down as an MSP due to a cancer diagnosis: “I find it really hard to put into words the impact that the language of dignity and compassion being used to talk about ending life has had on me—as if somehow wishing to carry on but with help is undignified and burdensome, unfair to people who love me… “My blood runs cold thinking about sitting in a room in a hospital and having a doctor raise that with me as we weigh up treatment options… “If it weighs so heavily on me, someone in a position of financial privilege, with a large loving family who are able to care for each other—indeed, someone whose job it’s been for 10 years to have difficult conversations… I want colleagues to see how this all plays out for people who don’t have the privilege that we have. “And in doing so, let’s have our eyes open to the strain our health and social care systems are under.”

🚨🇮🇱🇺🇸 Is a ground raid on Isfahan imminent? US and Israeli officials are reportedly debating a high-risk special ops mission to seize Iran’s 460kg stockpile of near-weapons-grade uranium. •Location: The underground tunnels of the Isfahan Nuclear Facility. •The Stakes: This material could be converted into 11-15 nuclear warheads within weeks. •The Risk: Analysts warn it would require the "largest special forces operation in history."

Questions to ask yourself before buying a farm: How much money can you light on fire and burn without it impacting your way of living? Why do you want a farm? Does your spouse and or partner share the same why? Do you want to make money from this farm, or is it a hobby? If you want to make money, how long can you live on the funds you currently have without making money? Do you want to live on the farm? How much money can you afford to invest in the farm without a return? Do you plan on having livestock? What livestock? Do you like to go on vacation? Who will care for the livestock and or crops while on vacation? What skills do you currently have that could be used in farming? What skills do you think you need to gain in order to farm? Where could you find those skills? What are the geographical requirements for the farm? (2 hours from a major airport, near family, within 45 minutes of an existing home etc) How much money can you lose on the farm annually? What grows in that area? How much money are you ready to lose on this farm? What items in life are more important than the farm? Will any of those items conflict with farm ownership? How many hours a week can you dedicate to your farm? Let’s go back to that money - seriously, how much money can you lose?

Remarkable speech from Pam Duncan-Glancy (Independent): “There will be countless disabled people in our constituencies who haven’t had the choice to have a shower in weeks. People who can’t choose when they go to bed. Some who will already be in bed. “People who can’t choose what to eat. People who can’t choose to go out of their house, because it isn’t accessible. People tonight who can’t choose the care or the healthcare they need, including at the end, because it simply isn’t available for them. “And crucially, there will be disabled people whose struggle is so hard that they’ve given up hope, given up fighting, and will be considering tonight taking their own lives. “I know this, because I have been all of these people I’ve described. They live in fear every single day, worrying about what new limit someone else will put on their lives, and what little power they will have to change it. They live every single day without choice at all… “In a world where so many have little or no choice, we can’t risk making death the only choice they ever have.”

🚨🚨🚨 Ilhan Omar has allegedly been funneling millions of dollars to a health clinic run by her sister, according to a recent report Rep. Omar is now being accused of directing taxpayer dollars to a Minneapolis health clinic that was run by her sister, Sahra Noor. Noor served as CEO of the People's Center Clinics & Services (PCCS), a nonprofit health center, from July 2014 to April 2018 - the height of the Somali migrant fraud in the state. During that time, the clinic racked up large amounts of public funding - which is now in the spotlight as many are pointing to Omar's role in creating, pushing and signing off on legislation influencing the allocations to the clinic. Funding for PCCS includes: 💲About $33 million in grants from HHS since 2002 💲$2.2 million from Minnesota's 2017 state capital budget, approved right after Omar started her term in the Minnesota House of Representatives 💲$1 million in federal funding secured by Omar in 2022 💲An additional $1 million in federal funding secured by Omar in April 2024. Omar denies any wrongdoing However, these new allegations come as Omar is being investigated for her sudden jump in wealth as detailed on her 2024 congressional disclosure forms showing a worth of upwards of $30 million. In her 2023 report, she reported a worth of 🔺️between $40,000 & $250,000. 🔺️She claims the wealth comes from her husband's winery but the winery appears to be non-functional, with no sales, no onsite operations and multiple lawsuits filed for defrauding investors. 🔺️Omar has also been implicated in the massive $9 billion Somali migrant fraud in Minnesota. Details on Omar's ties: ➡️She was close with some of the convicted fraudsters, ➡️She introduced and pushed the bill to remove safeguards for certain welfare programs including school nutrition (which is how the fraud was able to take place) ➡️She hosted her 2018 congressional victory party at Safari Restaurant, owned by convicted fraudster Salim Ahmed Said, who stole over $12 million by fabricating meal claims then spent the money on personal luxuries. ➡️In May 2020, Omar was featured in a promotional video at Safari praising the program's community impact, though she later condemned the fraud as "reprehensible." ➡️A former campaign staffer, Guhaad Hashi Said, pleaded guilty to stealing $3.2 million ➡️Another aide, Ali Isse, defended Feeding Our Future at a 2021 event, criticizing state scrutiny as racially motivated. ➡️Omar's campaign received $7,400 in donations from three indicted fraudsters ➡️Omar said she didn't know about the fraud, but said she would have still pushed to remove safeguards from nutrition programs - then later saying the fraud took place because there weren't enough safeguards.

I think people who do government service especially anything going against a certain narrative should have more protection and attention given to the issues they raise on being targeted and attacked. I don’t know why RFK jr or Jay B or even the White House couldn’t weigh in publicly in a general way. What’s happening is despicable criminal harassment with career ending consequences. I’m fighting now because I have no choice but I do have much on my plate and don’t want to waste my remaining time on earth answering to never ending investigations. Persecution causes suffering and quenched creativity that is badly needed for innovation within academia.
