I was thinking about this the other day. There's no such thing as a mall anymore. There hasn't been for a while: not even strip malls. This is truly a mega event in social destruction because malls were not so much places to buy things, as they were places for people to gather and socialize. Parents could buy and bring their children to play. Teenagers could gather and be cool. Old people could people watch. They were places where everyone could fit in and mingle.
