Weil auch wir immer wieder deshalb angefragt werden: modRNA-Impfstoffe gibt es bisher nur gegen COVID-19 und RSV. Das heißt nicht, dass es nicht auch modRNA-Impfstoffkandidaten für weitere Impfungen gibt. Rein ökonomisch macht es für Hersteller Sinn, in diese Technologie zu investieren. Aber es gibt keine uns bekannten Vorhaben der Gesundheitsbehörden, alles umzustellen. Solche Meldungen lenken von den wirklich wichtigen Themen bei Impfstoffen ab – nämlich wie es um die Studienlage zu Wirksamkeit und Nebenwirkungen bestellt ist. Leider ist die Studienlage bei vielen Impfungen nach wie vor sehr dünn – vor allem Pharma-finanzierte Forschung, Nutzung von Ersatzparametern und störanfällige Beobachtungsstudien. Darüber sollte aufgeklärt werden!
