The New York Times just "covered" a damning 47-page report packed with 169 sources... in a measly six paragraphs. Then they trotted out three so-called "experts" to weigh in. Every single one of them viciously hostile to the panel and its findings. One is literally suing to torch the entire advisory committee and shut it down for good. Not one supportive voice. Not a whisper from anyone who might say, yeah, maybe the thousands reporting vaccine injuries aren't all delusional liars and actually deserve real investigation instead of being waved off, gaslit, and told to shut up. Classic playbook: bury the substance under a avalanche of sneering quotes from the same tired crew fighting tooth and nail to keep the old narrative locked in place. They couldn't even pretend to balance it. (article below)

To the international community and friends of Iran: Tomorrow evening, March 17, my compatriots across Iran will celebrate Chaharshanbe Suri in their alleys and neighborhoods. Chaharshanbe Suri is our ancient fire festival of joy and renewal, a cherished tradition rooted in our civilization for millennia. The regime has issued threats of deadly force to suppress these peaceful celebrations and prevent the Iranian people from honoring their heritage. I urge you to keep your eyes on Iran. Do not allow the regime to use violence against the people determined to celebrate life, light, and hope in the face of darkness.

Hellish day in A&E. The doctors and nurses are working flat out but the constant stream of patients is just too much. When I was a kid if you went to A&E you saw people with broken arms and bloody eye patches, things cut off or sticking out of their head. Today it was just people who couldn't get a GP appointment. Why do we not have enough doctor's surgeries in this country? Is it financially unviable to run one, too expensive to become a GP, or no longer a sought after career? What the hell is going on?

.@mattwridley: Interesting parallels come to mind. 1. Malthus published his book on English overpopulation and overconsumption in 1798. Thereafter, the population of England rose, and the prices of wheat fell relative to wages. 2. Marx published Das Kapital in 1867, arguing that workers' wages would be squeezed to zero by capitalist competition (based on a much-debated and probably incorrect "Engels' Pause"). Thereafter, English wages skyrocketed. 3. Ehrlich published his book about coming global famines in 1968. Thereafter, global famines collapsed, and standards of living across much of the world rose.

A 19-year-old Royal Holloway student — Brodie Mitchell — was suspended after a Freshers’ Fair exchange with an anti-Zionist activist who called him a “wannabe Jew”.   He responded by asking why she was wearing a “tea towel” — referring to the keffiyeh-style head-dress she was wearing.   The university suspended Brodie, locked him out of campus and his accommodation — despite having no contractual right to do so — and launched major misconduct proceedings that could have led to his expulsion.   While Brodie faced disciplinary action and serious disruption to his studies, the other student continued attending campus as normal.   The process was deeply unfair and a blatant example of double standards for speech on campus. Royal Holloway was allowed legal representation at the hearing — but Brodie was not.   Now the university is spending vast sums on lawyers to defend its actions in the High Court — wildly disproportionate to the case and seemingly designed to bully a 19-year-old student out of the litigation. Royal Holloway’s conduct is, in our view, disgraceful and intolerable. The Free Speech Union is proud to stand by Brodie in fighting back against this attempt to bully him.   With the support of the Free Speech Union, Brodie is now back on campus — but under onerous conditions restricting who he can talk to and what he can say. Royal Holloway proposes that Brodie face expulsion for any further breach of university rules, no matter how minor.   The enactment of the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act 2023 was a step-change in the protection of freedom of speech on English campuses. ‘Business as usual’ is no longer good enough – universities need to get serious about tolerating their students’ free speech. Royal Holloway, however, does not seem to have received the memo. It is time to remind them, forcibly, of their duties.   We are challenging the restrictions and asking the regulator to investigate. To help Brodie, and other FSU members in similar predicaments, please give to our legal defence fund. Any donation you make will go into a general fund which will pay for the best legal representation for members under threat.

Trump will Kriegseintritt der NATO Beim Irakkrieg weigerte sich Bundeskanzler Gerhard Schröder mitzumachen. Wie @_FriedrichMerz sich verhält, ist unklar. Israel Police Spokesperson’s Unit: Police forces located fragments of missiles and interceptor debris, some of significant size, at multiple sites in the Old City, including the Temple Mount complex, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre complex, and the Jewish Quarter. This incident underscores that the enemy does not distinguish between religions or places of worship: synagogues, mosques, or churches, and highlights the importance of police decisions to enforce Home Front Command directives, including the temporary closure of holy sites to worshippers and visitors. These operational decisions are based on thorough risk assessments, with the overriding goal of saving lives.

None of this "Free Palestine” activism in Hollywood is sincere. They do it because it’s an “in thing” and wins approval from the young crowd. Don’t believe me? A reminder from recent history helps. In the 1990s and early 2000s, “Free Tibet” had an even bigger celebrity endorsement machine. Hollywood stars, musicians, concerts, award speeches, support for Tibet and the Dalai Lama was loud across the entertainment industry. And now, Free Tibet is nowhere discussed. Not because the issue was resolved. It went silent because China became an indispensable economic power and market for films, music, and brands. Angering China carried real financial consequences, movies banned, concerts cancelled, market access lost. So the moral fervor disappeared. That should tell us something about celebrity activism. Today they say “Free Palestine” because there are no financial consequences. The day that changes, it will fade like “Free Tibet.” What looks like moral conviction is just aligning with whatever cause is trending.
