Hamit Coskun fled Turkey, where Islamists “destroyed” his family’s life, and sought asylum in the UK. Now he may have no option but to flee to the US if he loses his blasphemy case.
Hamit was convicted of a religiously aggravated public order offence after setting fire to a copy of the Koran and shouting “f*** Islam” outside the Turkish consulate in Knightsbridge. It was a one-man protest against what he sees as the Islamification of Turkey.
At the same time, the religious fanatic who violently attacked him with a large knife, Moussa Kadri, was spared jail.
Hamit’s conviction was overturned by Mr Justice Bennathan last October. He ruled that while many Muslims may have taken offence at Mr Coskun’s actions, the right to freedom of expression “must include the right to express views that offend, shock or disturb”.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is now seeking to overturn Hamit’s acquittal, effectively introducing an Islamic blasphemy law via the back door. It would also send a signal to religious fanatics that they have a green light to violently attack those who break the blasphemy code.
Tim Owen KC, representing Mr Coskun, told Lord Justice Warby that if he grants the appeal, he will be putting into law that burning books — any book — in central London is always disorderly.
The Free Speech Union is once again supporting Hamit and his right to freedom of speech.

What many Muslims do not understand is that, in this regard, Islam is profoundly inferior to Christianity.
Let me explain.
In Christianity, human beings are seen as sinful. Yet because they possess agency, because there is freedom of conscience, and because of the fruit of Christian theology in the West, people are allowed to live as they choose.
That is why sin or immorality is visible in the West. You can see it because people do not have to hide it. They are free, even when they are living in sin, and the West was never built on a shame-honor culture.
Islam, however, does not value human agency in the same way. It suppresses people and pushes them to conceal the same forms of immorality that human beings practice everywhere, including in the West.
Instead of changing the heart and purifying the eyes, Islam covers women. Instead of teaching inner discipline, it licenses fornication. Instead of recognizing all people as equal regardless of religious affiliation, it institutionalizes the supremacy of one religious group.
Islam cares about spectacle and appearance, not substance. That is why this man believes Islamic countries are purer than the West. He mistakes visible conformity for moral health. He believes appearances matter more than freedom. That is what Islam has taught him.
Islam is a threat not because it opposes sin, but because it destroys honesty and authenticity.
It produces a culture of hypocrisy and false self-righteousness. It undermines human agency, treats women as property, persecutes non-Muslims, and justifies violence against them.
Worst of all, it trains people to perform righteousness while hiding reality.
It is far better to live in a society where some immorality is visible but authenticity survives, than in a society that displays neither visible immorality nor authenticity, while beneath the surface it is far more corrupt.

Five people in France 🇫🇷 have been indicted for transferring funds to Hamas under the cover of humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
The five individuals, linked to the French associations Humani’Terre and Soutien Humani’Terre, are also being prosecuted for organized breach of trust and money laundering tied to a terrorist organization.

Die Kultivierung der Panik 🕋
„Fürchtet euch nicht!“ – dieser Satz zieht sich wie ein roter Faden durch das Neue Testament. Es sind die Worte der Engel, und es ist der ständige Zuruf von Jesus an seine Anhänger. Wenn wir diesen Kernsatz nehmen und ihn schonungslos mit dem emotionalen Fundament des Islam vergleichen, stoßen wir auf den vielleicht massivsten psychologischen Unterschied zwischen beiden Religionen.
Es ist der absolute Kontrast zwischen einer Vater-Kind-Beziehung und einem Herrscher-Sklaven-Verhältnis.
1. ⛪ Das christliche Ideal: Die Abschaffung der Angst
Im Kern der neutestamentlichen Botschaft steht ein radikaler psychologischer Paradigmenwechsel. Der Gott, der im antiken Judentum oft unnahbar und furchteinflößend wirkte, wird plötzlich „Abba“ (Papa/Vater) genannt.
Liebe verdrängt Furcht: Der Erste Johannesbrief bringt das revolutionäre Konzept auf den Punkt: „Furcht ist nicht in der Liebe, sondern die vollkommene Liebe treibt die Furcht aus; denn die Furcht rechnet mit Strafe.“
Die Motivation: Im urchristlichen Ideal (bevor die Kirche im Mittelalter die Hölle als Folterinstrument entdeckte, wie wir vorhin besprochen haben) tun Menschen nicht deshalb Gutes, weil sie Angst vor Schlägen haben. Sie handeln idealerweise aus Dankbarkeit und Liebe zu einem vergebenden Gott.
Der Mensch wird theologisch vom Untertanen zum „Kind Gottes“ befördert.
2. 🕌 Der Islam: „Taqwa“ oder die kultivierte Panik
Im Islam suchen wir die theologische Aufforderung „Fürchtet euch nicht vor Gott“ vergebens. Im Gegenteil: Die Furcht vor Allah ist keine Schwäche, die überwunden werden muss, sondern die absolute höchste Tugend. Der islamische Fachbegriff dafür lautet Taqwa.
Angst als Tugend: Taqwa wird heute in westlichen Dialogen oft weichgespült und mit „Ehrfurcht“ oder „Gottesbewusstsein“ übersetzt. Doch orthodox theologisch und im Lebensalltag bedeutet es knallhart: Die ständige, präsente Angst vor Allahs Zorn und dem Höllenfeuer. Es ist der permanente innere Druck, bloß kein Haram zu begehen.
Der Meister und sein Sklave: Der Islam lehnt die Vorstellung, Gott sei ein „Vater“, vehement ab (das gilt als Shirk, also Blasphemie, da Gott nicht zeugt). Allah ist der absolute, erhabene Herrscher (Rabb), und der Mensch ist wörtlich sein Sklave oder Knecht ('Abd).
Ein Sklave begegnet seinem allmächtigen Meister nicht auf Augenhöhe, sondern in tiefer Unterwerfung und Furcht vor Konsequenzen.
3️⃣ 🌐 Der kritische Kontrast: Befreiung vs. Dressur
Wenn man diese beiden psychologischen Systeme kritisch abklopft, zeigt sich, wie unterschiedlich menschliches Verhalten gesteuert wird:
Die innere Überwachungskamera:
Das christliche „Fürchtet euch nicht“ soll den Menschen (zumindest in der Theorie) von existenzieller Panik befreien, damit er aus Freiheit gut handelt.
Der Islam hingegen nutzt die Gottesfurcht als ständige Überwachungskamera im Kopf. Du hältst dich an die Regeln, weil Allah alles sieht und akribisch für den Tag des Jüngsten Gerichts mitschreibt.
Die Verschiebung der Angst: Auch im Koran gibt es den Befehl, sich nicht zu fürchten – aber er bezieht sich fast immer auf weltliche Dinge oder Feinde. Die koranische Logik lautet vereinfacht: „Fürchtet nicht die Menschen, fürchtet nur Mich.“
Die Angst wird also nicht aufgelöst, sie wird lediglich monopolisiert. Die ultimative kosmische Angst vor dem Schöpfer überschattet alles andere.
Kritiker werfen der islamischen
Theologie hier oft vor, dass eine Moral, die primär auf der nackten Angst vor Bestrafung (Hölle) und der Gier nach Belohnung (Huris, Wein im Paradies) basiert, eigentlich keine reife Ethik ist, sondern pure göttliche Dressur.
