We are told this is about dignity. About choice. About autonomy. But autonomy does not exist in a vacuum.
Choice!? This is not about choice!
What does ‘choice’ mean for a 25-year-old woman who has been gang-raped, had no justice, rapists still out there living their lives, whilst she is institutionalised, pathologised, paralysed, and left to live in chronic pain?
What does ‘choice’ mean when every system she has encountered has failed to keep her safe, failed to support her, and instead labelled her responses as disordered?
What does ‘choice’ mean when the only consistent message she has received is: you are too much, too broken, too difficult to fix?
We need to be honest about what we are witnessing.
We are witnessing a system that cannot - or will not - provide the depth of trauma-informed, relational, long-term support that survivors need. And systems that will not address male violence - which is a common denominator in these cases.
And so, instead, it offers an exit - for the victim.

Der wegen des Krieges gegen den Iran zurückgetretene Terrorabwehr-Chef der USA, Joe Kent, gibt offen zu, dass die US-Regierung Al-Qaida bewaffnet und den IS in Syrien aufgebaut hat. Man habe bewusst ein weltweites Terrornetzwerk freigesetzt – einzig und allein, um Assad zu stürzen und Israels Interessen in der Region zu schützen. Den Irak habe man ebenfalls für Israel destabilisiert. Und nun sei der Iran dran. All das diene allein (Groß-)Israel und seinen Interessen.
Der IS sei dann außer Kontrolle geraten und habe Anschläge in Europa verübt. Seine Frau sei übrigens ebenfalls durch ein Selbstmordattentat in Syrien getötet worden.
Zu dem selbsternannten syrischen Präsidenten, der am Montag auf Einladung nach Deutschland kommt, sagt er: Er wurde von Bin Ladens rechter Hand, Aiman al-Zawahiri, eingesetzt, war für den IS und Al-Qaida aktiv, hat etliche Menschen geköpft und ermordet und wird nun vom Wertewesten reingewaschen – durch eine PR-Kampagne und einen Anzug.
