I grew up in Iran. Every day before class, we were forced to stand in line and chant “Death to America.”
My little brother, six years younger than me, once told my mother he didn’t want to go to school anymore because he hated saying it. He was in second grade.
The irony is that, now we Iranians, have to explain this reality to americans like Ginny Robinson!! who don’t understand the nature of the regime they’re defending. This government does not believe in “Long live Iran,” or even genuinely in “Long live Palestine” or “Long live Islam.”
Its doctrine has always been “Death to America.”
If it hasn’t harmed you yet, it’s not because it didn’t want to. It’s because it didn’t have the means.

Early in the present century lesions of the peripheral nerves caused by arsenical intoxication were a frequent occurrence. In most cases the neuropathy could be attributed to contact with the many household articles such as dyes, wallpaper and insecticides that contained large quantities of arsenic. In recent years, exposure to arsenic has been greatly reduced, and arsenical intoxication is no longer considered a common cause of peripheral neuropathy. Dusts and sprays containing arsenic, however, continue to be extensively employed as pesticides on farms in North Carolina, and their accidental ingestion or inhalation has produced numerous cases of poisoning. Our experience with this condition suggests that arsenical intoxication may be a more frequent cause of neuropathy, particularly in rural areas, than is generally realized. The present paper analyzes 41 cases of acute and chronic arsenical poisoning with peripheral neuropathy seen in Duke University Hospital and Durham Veterans Administration Hospital during the past fifteen years. The clinical and laboratory diagnosis of this condition is emphasized. Special attention is also given to the effects of BAL therapy of the neuropathy since there is little information on the value of this commonly recommended agent.

The real question is if it’s a data point that meaningfully adds value beyond clinical risk factors.
I don’t think it’s a meaningless data point objectively, and as value is subjective a lot of patients love the information so it’s a test I do use a reasonable amount.
But when you dive in it’s actually pretty poor on the prognosis front beyond what we already can ascertain based on your history/blood work.
If not for the advent of PCSK9i’s that open up the possibility of very low LDL in the entire population (law of diminishing returns applies in LDL lowering!) the test would have even less value.
When you add in the inappropriate risk classification that may result , as well as side effects of medical therapeutics (not speculation , see DANCAVAS trials discussed in post) it begins to feel like we’re trying to squeeze water from a stone.
We clearly need to spend some serious dollars on getting way better tests/

Labour are planning to abolish juries in half of all trials before the local elections.
Starmer and Lammy have doubled down on plans to restrict our ancient right to trial by jury, pushing legislation through within two months.
This is a sinister move that has already faced significant backlash from lawyers, Starmer’s former chambers, opposition MPs, Labour MPs and victims of crime.
Labour rebels have called the plan anti-democratic and warned it will increase racial discrimination within the criminal justice system. At least 60 MPs are thought to be preparing to rebel against the government, which is set to introduce legislation this week. The deliberately compressed timetable appears designed to avoid scrutiny, as Starmer seeks to cement this as a legacy policy before any potential leadership contest.
Under these proposals, juries would no longer hear cases involving assault, most drug offences, burglary, non-violent theft and some violent sexual crimes.
Vice President of the Law Society of England and Wales, Brett Dixon, has said: “The government’s proposals go too far in eroding the longstanding right to be judged by a jury of our own peers, by allowing a single judge to determine guilt in serious, life-changing cases.”
“There is no clear evidence that removing jury trials will do anything to resolve delays.”
The Free Speech Union’s research shows that those charged with a speech related crime are almost twice as likely to be found not guilty in a Crown Court with a jury than in a magistrates’ court without one.
Lammy’s plan will not cut the backlog. It will, however, see more people prosecuted for exercising their right to free speech.

Politico's actual concern (in print!!!) is that a Supreme Court ruling protecting physician free speech "could permit doctors to speak more freely with patients and to the public about approaches to health care that are outside the mainstream."
Outside the mainstream. Let's talk about that for a second.
Who decides what's "mainstream?" The same institutions that told us masks didn't work, then said they did? The same bodies that said COVID couldn't have come from a lab? The same establishment that assured us the vaccines would stop transmission? The same system that watched Dr. Paul Marik (the most published ICU doctor in the world) stand before a Senate hearing in tears, saying, "They took away the drugs that were working for me. They made me just watch my patients die."
His ICU had the highest survival rate. And they stripped him of his ability to treat.
Doctors who used hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin (and saved lives doing it) had their licenses threatened or revoked. Not for harming patients. For HELPING them. For thinking outside the box when the entire world admitted it didn't know how to treat this disease.
The Supreme Court is now weighing whether licensing boards can punish doctors for speaking their truth. And Politico's position is that they should be able to.
The patient comes first. That is the foundation of medicine. And what we did to doctors during COVID, and what Politico is defending, is the complete inversion of that principle.

בפוסט אַד הוֹמִינֶם יוצא דופן בארסיותו כנגד המאמר שפרסמנו שלשום על הסיכון הקרדיווסקולרי של חיסון הקורונה, הכותב עובר אחד אחד, על פני כל חמשת המחברים* של המאמר, ומטיל בנו דופי, באופן אישי.
את הפוסט המלעיז, שחסכתי מכם כדי לא לתת במה ללשון הרע, כתב אחד המייסדים של עמותת מדעת – העמותה שעושה לדבריה, "כל מאמץ כדי להנגיש מידע מבוסס-ראיות ומהימן בנושאי בריאות".
ומאחר, שגם אני משתדל, כפי יכולתי, להנגיש מידע מבוסס בנושאי בריאות, אזכיר לכותב שהעליתי את קובץ הנתונים של המאמר ל- Open Science Framework, ושהוא מוזמן לנתח את מאות אלפי תופעות הלוואי שהופיעו בו בעצמו, ולכתוב מאמר תגובה ענייני.
הקובץ, כזכור מהסרטון שפרסמתי (כאן למטה), הגיע לידינו אחרי בקשות חופש מידע חוזרות ונשנות של דוד שולדמן, והוא מכיל דיווחים של אנשי רפואה מקופת חולים כללית שהוזנו במערכת הנחליאל"י – "מאגר החיסונים הלאומי - ממשק תגובה לאחר חיסון".
בניתוח שאנחנו ערכנו עשינו כל שביכולתנו לצמצם שגיאות. בקובץ היה חסר מידע, כפי שנכתב בדו"ח מבקר המדינה, כך שנאלצנו 'לחתוך' מאות דיווחים שהיה ספק לגבי מהימנותם (ששיקפו אולי, דיווחים כפולים).
ובכל זאת, למרות הניתוח הַסּוּפֶּר שמרני שערכנו, זיהינו 271 מקרים ייחודים של תופעות לוואי קרדיווסקולריות בקרב מתבגרים צעירים (בני 12-16), שהתרחשו בסמוך למועד שבו משרד הבריאות התיר לחסן בני נוער מתחת לגיל 16.
זהו מספר עצום של מתבגרים, שמשקף, כמעט בוודאות, הערכת חסר של כמות הנפגעים האמיתית – הן בגלל האופי השמרני של הניתוח שערכנו, והן בגלל טבען המוכר של מערכות ניטור, שלוכדות רק אחוז קטן מהתופעות שמתרחשות במציאות, כפי שהוכח שוב ושוב בספרות.
במאמר, השתדלנו גם לספק אומדן מינימלי, שמרני ביותר, לשיעור הסיכון באוכלוסייה, תחת הנחות אפידמיולוגיות מחמירות במיוחד, כמעט בלתי סבירות.
הנחה מחמירה לדוגמה הייתה שכל 254,347 המתבגרים המבוטחים בקופ"ח כללית שחוסנו כנגד קורונה (בערך – על פי הצלבת הערכות הלשכה המרכזית לסטטיסטיקה, נתוני הביטוח הלאומי, ולוח הבקרה של משרד הבריאות), קיבלו את החיסון בחלון זמן צר של שישה שבועות שבו תועדו הדיווחים.
הנחה מחמירה אחרת לדוגמה הייתה שכל 271 האירועים הקרדיווסקולריים שתועדו בקובץ משקפים את כלל האירועים שהתרחשו במציאות, כאילו לא היו אירועים נוספים – לא בתוך הקובץ עצמו (שנגרעו בעקבות הסינון השמרני שערכנו), ולא מחוצה לו, במציאות עצמה, כמתחייב מטבען של מערכות ניטור (למשל, אירועים שהתרחשו כמה חודשים לאחר החיסון ולא נחשדו כתופעת לוואי שלו).
ואחרי כל ההנחות המחמירות הללו, הגענו לאומדן מזעזע: שיעור הסיכון המינימלי שעלה מתוך קובץ הניטור עמד על אירוע קרדיווסקולרי אחד עבור כל 939 מתבגרים מחוסנים בני 12-16.
מי שרוצה להתעלם משיעור הסיכון הזה בתואנה שמחברי המאמר (אנחנו) 'מכחישי מדע', מוזמן לעשות זאת. התעלמות לא תשנה את הממצאים.
ומי שרוצה לטעון שיש בעיה בקובץ הניטור, יתכבד ויסביר כיצד הגיעו למערכת הניטור הלאומית שפתוחה לאנשי רפואה (לא לנו, 'מכחישי המדע'), 277 דיווחים ייחודיים על תופעות לוואי קרדיווסקולריות בקרב מתבגרים צעירים.
ומי שממש ממש מתעקש לטעון שהדיווחים 'צצו' בקובץ "יש מאין", יתכבד ויסביר מדוע משרד הבריאות לא טיפל במערכת הניטור בזמן אמת. מדוע המשרד "לא שב ופנה לכללית בתקופה זו בעניין זה, ובסופו של דבר לא נקלטו במערכות המשרד כ 279,300- דיווחים", כפי שקבע מבקר המדינה?
האם ההחלטה להתעלם מסיגנל הבטיחות הבוהק שזעק מקובץ הניטור של קופ"ח כללית הייתה סבירה רק משום ש-"חלק מהרשומות... חסרו את השדה של מועד תופעת הלוואי או את השדה המפרט את תופעת הלוואי, וכן היו דיווחים שהתייחסו לחיסונים אחרים", כפי שנכתב בדו"ח המבקר?
האם סביר להסתיר את המידע המטריד שעלה מן הקובץ מהרופאים ומהציבור?
ונניח שהיו בעיות מסוימות בקובץ הניטור, כיצד פעלו במשרד הבריאות לתקן את המחדל בזמן אמת? האם סביר לחסן מיליוני ילדים ומבוגרים במוצר רפואי חדש שהותר לשימוש במהירות חסרת תקדים בתחום החיסונים, ללא פיקוח ראוי?
במקרה של חיסוני הקורונה, חובת ההוכחה המדעית, וחובת הפיקוח על בטיחות החיסון, מוטלות בכבדות על תומכי החיסון, ובייחוד על הרגולטור שדחק בנו לחסן את ילדנו, שלא נמצאו בסיכון משמעותי למחלה קשה ותמותה מקורונה, תוך כפיה עקיפה, באמצעות לחצים כבדים ופספורט חיסונים חסר תקדים.
זהו מבנה הכוח והשיח הרפואי-מדעי. השתלחות אישית באזרחים שפועלים להשיג את המידע ולנתח אותו היא מעשה אנטי מדעי, וכמובן, עוולה מוסרית, ואולי גם חוקית.
