Now they are trying to protect the Islamic Republic - a regime responsible (either directly or indirectly) for literally every war in the Middle East since 1979 - under the phony guise of humanitarian concern and pacifism. Where were these pacifists when 40,000 Iranians were slaughtered? They were too busy grousing about Israel and telling Iranians (and Venezuelans, and Cubans) to "shut up" about their own oppression.
Maybe at one point the left was serious about universal human rights. They aren't anymore. Now they're immersed in some utterly braindead Manichean bullshit about how the West/Israel are the root of all evil and anyone who opposes them is one of the "children of light".
It's all so fucking stupid.
It's possible to criticize and hold America accountable for its wrongdoings without shilling for the absolute worst regimes on Earth just because they share your disdain for the West and its ills.
But, for some reason, you are unable to grasp this. Either that or you've come to hate the West so much that you would rather ally with terrorist regimes who massacre protesters, run torture dungeons, and kidnap women as sex slaves than take America's side on *anything* at all.
That's not brave. That's not edgy. That's not intelligent. And it sure as fuck isn't moral.
