Man engagiert sich offenbar nur dann lautstark, wenn es geopolitisch opportun ist – vor allem, wenn es im Interesse von Israel oder den USA liegt. Ansonsten herrscht betretenes Schweigen oder gezieltes Wegschauen.
Das ist keine Verschwörungstheorie, sondern die bittere Realität einer tiefen Doppelmoral und Heuchelei, die sich durch weite Teile der westlichen Politik und Medienlandschaft zieht. Die Christen Syriens und die anderen religiösen Minderheiten bezahlen diesen moralischen Bankrott mit ihrer Existenz und ihrer Heimat.
