Ich kannte unterschiedliches Berlin, in den Achtziger, die Zwanglosigkeit, die Insel, das Gefühl als US Soldat das richtige zu tun, die Kreativität der Stadt, die Schnauze und das "Icke".
Das komische Gefühl wenn am Lehrter Bahnhof DDR Personal in die S-Bahn einstieg und an der Friedrichstraße man durch Büdchen gehen musste, seinen Ausweis zeigen und 25 Mark umtauschen, dann die Treppe hoch und du meintest auf einem anderen Planeten zu sein, wenn Banner an den Häuserwänden den Zusammenhalt der sozialistischen Bruderländer priesen und bei Kulturinstituten gefühlt immer das Wort "Frieden" auftauchte. Nach der Wende erst einmal Aufbruch Stimmung.
Das erste mal nach der Wende kam ich 2000 zu Besuch nach Berlin, wieder eine vollkommen andere Stadt. Die Unbekümmertheit war irgendwie weg, die Bevölkerung wirkte und war wohl auch ausgetauscht. Die Kehrwoche drohte sich an und wo früher "Icke" hauste, war jetzt eher nur noch in Spandau oder Tegel zu finden.
Seit 21 bin ich nun als Anhängsel von Collins Abordnung wieder in Berlin und die Stadt entwickelt sich in der Gegenwart zu etwas was ich nicht mehr mag, was kein zweites Zuhause mehr ist. Es ist dreckig, nichts funktioniert ordentlich, ob ÖR, oft die Stromversorgung. "Icke" trägt jetzt Schleier oder Kopftuch, nicht nur in Neukölln. Mein Alltagsspielraum ist mein Kiez, ich habe keine Lust nochmal nach Mitte, Treptow oder Tegel zu fahren. Ich habe keine Lust mehr auf ewige Baustellen, beschissene, eintönige neue Architektur, auf Obdachlosigkeit am Savignyplatz von Gestank und Pfützen aus Pisse waten zu müssen, wenn ich zur S Bahn Station gehe.
Ich will keinen ÖR mehr teilen mit Menschen ohne Rücksichtnahme und Anstand. Ich will nicht mehr das mir die Leute zu nah auf die Pelle rücken und vieles mehr.
Einerseits will ich nur noch weg, anderseits bietet mir die Stadt viele Vorteile, von der ärztlichen Versorgung, Charité um die Ecke, kulinarischer breitgefächerter Lieferservice und die Taxi dichte.
Aber dann merkt man, dass man wieder keine Handwerker bekommt oder Hilfen im Alltag, ob eine regelmässige Putzfrau oder jemanden der dir das Laub im Garten Weg macht.
Das sind meine Eindrücke von der Stadt. Besucher erleben die Stadt der Gegenwart eher als shithole, dass spricht sich rum und warum für viel kulturlosigkeit und Dysfunktionalität Geld bezahlen, wenn Europa so viel schönes zu bieten hat.
