Ein Rant auf Berlin, eine Schimpfkanonade.
Bei meiner heutigen Runde z.B. Gendarmenmarkt, Bebelplatz, Museumsinsel stellte ich eine Leere der Stadt fest, die ich so bisher selten erlebt habe. Die Zahl der Touristen ist sehr überschaubar. Es war regelrecht leer. Zwar ist das Wetter auch nicht gut und auf der Museumsinsel ist Ruhetag, doch diese Leere war extrem.
Gleichzeitig habe ich mich an zahlreichen Orten unterwegs gefragt, können oder wollen Berlins Politik, Verwaltung und Bevölkerung keine gepflegte, saubere, schöne Stadt "herstellen".
Es dürfte beides nicht falsch sein. Die Defizite sind offensichtlich. Der Gebrauch von Reinigungsgerät, um z.B. Dreckablagerungen auf Gehwegen und Plätzen zu beseitigen, ist gänzlich unbekannt. Überall ist eine Kruste von schlicht Dreck.
Zertretene Rasenflächen, kaputte Wege, tiefe Baumscheiben, beschmierte Fassaden, Geländer und dergleichen mehr lassen selbst die bedeutendsten Orte in einem schlechten Licht erscheinen. Schmutzige Fenster, Fassaden. Auf dem Rathaus-Forum sieht man, wie jahrzehntelang die Rosenbeete vernachlässigt wurden, die Betoneinfassungen völlig zerstört, ein Volleyballplatz vor dem Roten Rathaus, eine verdreckte Toilette und zwielichtige Gestalten.
Gleichzeitig ist man unfähig oder nicht willens, Fehlverhalten von Radfahrern, Fußgängern zu sanktionieren. Ablagerung von Kleinmüll, Wildpinkeln, einer fuhr z.B. am Nationaldenkmal Neue Wache mit dem Fahrrad die Treppe hoch, sind für alle und jeden jederzeit möglich. Ordnungsämter sieht man nur als Verkehrsüberwachung, Polizei nirgends zu Fuß unterwegs und dafür nicht zuständig.
Dazu kommen dann noch völlig verranzte, kaputte Gestalten, wie ich sie vorhin im Bereich der Lindenoper sah, die ein Gefühl der Unsicherheit produzieren.
Im Shop vom DHM ein in der Ecke gefläzter Verkäufer, keinen Gruß erwidernd, ins Smartphone starrend. Auf den Tischen Marx und unten in einer Ecke Preußens Honorationen als Skulptur. Bückdichware. Zeitgeistliteratur.
Imbisse stinken vor sich hin. Die Freisitze von Lokalen leer, teilweise ungepflegt, billig und primitiv.
Im Shop der Lindenoper Personal, dass sich über Käsebrötchen austauscht, nicht jedoch bemerkt, dass die Ware größtenteils unausgepreist ist und ein potentieller Kunde verzweifelt nach den Preisen sucht. Da ich bei der Brötchenkunde nicht stören wollte, blieb der Ring des Nibelungen wo er war. Im Shop.
Berlin kann es nicht und will es nicht. Seit der Wende sind viele Jahrzehnte vergangen, es hätte die Chance bestanden, eine pulsierende, schöne Hauptstadt zu gestalten. Derweil bleiben Flächen wie am Molkenmarkt in zentralster Lage über Jahrzehnte unbebaut und die Politik streitet über die Bebauung, die dann ohnehin wieder in Legosteinen mit Schießschartenfensten erfolgt.
